For Claude users
Claude can check your Tesla's status and send it real commands - pre-condition the cabin, charge to a target, lock the doors, find the car - all from a normal conversation. Works on Claude.ai (free plan included), Claude Desktop, and Claude Code. Setup takes about 3 minutes.
Built on Tesla's official Fleet API - the same one Tesla's own app uses. We never see your Tesla password. Works with North American and European Tesla accounts.
100 free credits, no card required. Then Driver $4.99/mo or Driver Max $9.99/mo. Cancel anytime.
Prefer ChatGPT? mytesla.io works there too, as a published ChatGPT plugin.
Claude doesn't talk to your car directly. It connects to mytesla.io, a hosted MCP server for Tesla. mytesla.io holds the authorization Tesla gave it through the official Fleet API, and Claude calls that server's tools on your behalf. Nothing about this uses an unofficial API or a scraped session token - every command is a signed request through Tesla's own Fleet API and Vehicle Command Protocol, the same path Tesla's own app uses.
You ask Claude
"Warm the car to 70 before my 8am." Plain English, in the conversation you already have open.
Claude calls mytesla.io
Through its connector, Claude picks the right tool - climate, charging, locks - from the 40 we expose. Nothing else exists for it to call.
Your Tesla gets a signed command
We relay it over Tesla's Fleet API with your virtual key's signature, to your account's own regional server.
Sign in at mytesla.io with a six-digit email code - no password. Start free with 100 one-time credits, no card required.
Dashboard, then Connect Tesla, then approve on Tesla's own consent screen. We show up there as “Embay, LLC” - the company behind mytesla.io. Your home region (North America or Europe) is detected automatically.
A one-time step per vehicle: open a link on your phone and tap Approve on the car's touchscreen or in the Tesla app. This is what lets the car trust commands signed by mytesla.io.
The 100 free credits work immediately. When you want more: Driver at $4.99/mo (500 credits) or Driver Max at $9.99/mo (1,500 credits), via Stripe Checkout.
Claude.ai or Claude Desktop: Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector - paste the URL below and approve the OAuth prompt. Claude Code: one CLI command, then claude mcp login mytesla to sign in.
The connector URL
https://mcp.mytesla.io/mcp Claude Code (CLI)
claude mcp add --transport http mytesla https://mcp.mytesla.io/mcp That's it - no API keys to copy around, no separate app to install, nothing to keep running on your own machine.
Claude picks the right tool from what you type, and reads the car's live state before answering questions like "is it locked" - it's not guessing from a cached value. Pair it with a calendar connector and it composes: departure prep timed to your first meeting, charging planned around tomorrow's drive.
Want more? 25+ things you can do with Tesla + AI - real prompts beyond the basics, including standing rules composed with your calendar and the weather.
Claude was an early adopter of MCP - the open protocol mytesla.io speaks - so adding an external tool is a first-class Settings option rather than a hidden developer flag, and it works on the free plan. That makes the round-trip from "I want my AI to control my car" to actually doing it one of the shortest of any assistant. The same connector also works in ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and any MCP-compatible client - your mytesla.io account is the same everywhere, and many people connect several.
One credit per command. Wake-up costs 10. Reads of vehicle status cost 1; listing your vehicles, checking your credit balance, and filing a bug report are free. Unused monthly credits don't roll over; one-time extra-usage credits expire 90 days after purchase.

Daily-driver use, 1 vehicle.
Heavy use, more cars, busier days.
Extra usage packs — one-time charges on top of your subscription. Spent after your monthly allowance, expire 90 days from purchase.
Auto-reload (optional, off by default). Set a balance threshold and a monthly cap; we top up automatically when you run low so a busy day doesn't strand your AI mid-conversation. Email on every charge, 1-hour cooldown, auto-disables on charge failure.
No. mytesla.io is an independent product operated by Embay, LLC, built on Tesla's official Fleet API. We're not endorsed by or affiliated with Tesla.
No. Claude can only call the specific tools mytesla.io exposes - climate, charging, locks, alerts, navigation sharing, and a few security toggles like Sentry Mode and speed limits. There's no drive tool, and anything PIN-protected still requires you to set the PIN yourself.
Yes. mytesla.io operates on both of Tesla's regional Fleet API servers - North America and Europe - and detects your account's home region automatically when you connect. Accounts registered in China are on a separate Tesla cloud and are not supported.
Claude can wake it - that costs 10 credits instead of the usual 1, since Tesla rate-limits and prices wake calls more heavily than reads.
No extra fee for the connector itself. You pay your existing Claude plan (if your tier requires one for connectors) plus a mytesla.io subscription starting at $4.99/month - and there are 100 free credits to try it first.
No. mytesla.io is fully hosted - there is no bridge app, no Raspberry Pi, nothing to install or keep online. Claude talks to our server, and our server talks to Tesla.
Sign up, connect your car, paste one URL into Claude. Free to try, no card required.
