How it works: MCP + Tesla's Fleet API

  1. You authorize mytesla.io through Tesla's own OAuth consent screen — the same permission model Tesla's app uses.
  2. mytesla.io runs as a hosted MCP server. Your AI client connects to it, authenticates as you, and gets a list of 40 available tools.
  3. When you ask for something, the AI decides which tool(s) to call, calls them through Tesla's official Fleet API and Vehicle Command Protocol, and reports back.

Is my Tesla data safe?

  • mytesla.io does not store your car's location, drive history, or charge history. Live data is fetched per request and handed back to your AI; nothing persists beyond aggregate usage counts for billing.
  • We don't sell data, and we don't train AI models on your conversations or vehicle data.
  • The OAuth scope you approve sets a hard ceiling — mytesla.io can't request anything beyond it, and only exposes 40 fixed tools regardless of what the underlying Fleet API supports.

Which Teslas are supported

Any Model S, 3, X, or Y that supports Tesla's Fleet API and Vehicle Command Protocol — in practice, essentially every Model S/3/X/Y from 2018 onward. Some commands are trim-specific (panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats); the AI tells you when a command doesn't apply rather than failing silently.

Is this affiliated with Tesla, Inc.? No. mytesla.io is an independent product operated by Embay, LLC, built on Tesla's official Fleet API. Not endorsed by or affiliated with Tesla, Inc.

Can the AI drive the car or override safety settings? No. It can only call the 40 defined tools — climate, charging, access, alerts, navigation sharing, and a handful of security toggles. There's no "drive" tool, and PIN-protected features like Valet Mode still require you to set the PIN yourself.
